Few things in life bring the sB team more joy than stuffing our faces. That said, we’ve always been a bit more discerning than your average obese Americans. We strive to bring to light the best in unhealthy food by alerting our readers to unique ways of slowly killing themselves.
Here in the USA May is a very important month. It’s the month we put aside our disdain for Mexico and pretend to celebrate it’s rich cultural heritage and social contributions such as $1.00 Coronas and sangria (the fact that sangria isn’t Mexican is moot). So what better time than now to talk about our favorite Mexican food?
El Oasis is probably the most unassuming restaurant in Lansing. It’s actually just a cart set up in a parking lot. As far as we can tell, they hold no strict hours preferring instead to appear like it’s namesake, only when you need it most. The Oasis serves up some fine authentic cuisine. The menu is expansive and the fair is cheap. Last time we went we stayed unusually conservative, getting cilantro-lime tacos and tortas. For those feeling more adventurous, you could get pork tongue or brains or whatever it is our southern friends eat.

Just walk right up and prepare yourself for some Antojitos Mexicanos!

Seriously the best tacos I’ve ever had.

Nothing like a cool Jarritos to wash down cheesy, fatty, fried goodness.

El Oasis is at 2501 E Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48933 (maybe)
